Listening for the Voice of God - Solemnity of the Holy Family - December 29th, 2019

I was in a tiny chapel at Our Lady of the Snows as a seminarian on retreat.  There were about 3 other seminarians with me.  I was sitting in the silence trying to listen for the voice of God focusing on simply being in His presence and desiring to hear Him.  Then it happened, I heard from within... Listen to my homily to find out what I heard!

The corner of the chapel on the right is where it happened

The same day I gave the homily, the youth group went to
Our Lady of the Snows and I got to revisit that tiny chapel.

The day after I gave this Sunday homily, a parishioner came to me after daily Mass and said that she had a very similar experience.  While she was driving home from work, she was prompted to go to the Little Church.  After resisting 3 times, she finally decided to following God's inspiration.  When she got there, the Lord asked her to worship Him in the same way He asked me to worship Him.  (You will have to find out what I mean by this by listening to my homily.) Although no one was there, she was still hesitant and paranoid that someone would come in and see her.  She worshiped the Lord as He asked her too and was humbled in a good way by the experience, but totally understood what I was talking about in my homily about my own experience, especially the hesitation and embarrassment.
