I was lost - Epiphany of Our Lord - January 6th, 2019

I was lost before.  I drifted away from the faith.  What should we do if we start to drift, or begin to think that we are lost?  Listen to my homily to learn about what we should do.

We Sometimes Seem Lost (This is Not the Homily)
Sometimes we may seem to be lost.  When we feel lost, confused, and uncertain on our spiritual journey, rather than allow ourselves to drift away and slowly lose the faith, we should go deeper into the faith.  Let us seek a greater understanding of how or why the Church teaches what she teaches.
We can look in the Catechism of the Catholic Church; we can go to CatholicAnswers.com, listen to Catholic Radio (1460 AM), participate in the many opportunities we have with our Adult Faith Formation, go on retreat and spend time with a spiritual director, or seek out other resources and opportunities.
Let us continue to pray even when it seems like there isn’t anything happening.  Pray before the Lord in the privacy of our homes, pray with others who can ask God to help us, and pray in the Eucharistic presence of Our Lord in the tabernacle in the Little Church, which is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Let us seek out others who are strong in the faith to help us, such as, friends, family members, religious sisters, deacons, and priests.  I love to help people grow in their faith, so anyone who has questions or difficulties can come ask me and I will help as I am able.
Please do not wait until you are completely lost before seeking help.  If you are experiencing difficulties, don’t drift away from the faith, go deeper into it!
