Feast of St. Louis - 21st Sunday in Ordinary Time - August 25th, 2019

Strive to enter through the narrow gate.  This is what our Lord tells us, and St. Louis of France is an example for how we can strive to enter through the narrow gate.  Listen to my homily to learn more.

Persevere in Running the Race - 20th Sunday in OT - August 18th, 2019

God is awesome, for many reasons.  The one I’m thinking of right now is for how He coordinated our second reading and our Fair Ascension 5K Race yesterday morning.  We heard, “persevere in running the race that lies before us while keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus.”  His timing is great.  This reading only comes on one Sunday every three years and it happens to be on the same weekend as our first annual 5K race.  Great timing.  Though St. Paul was not referring to a physical, but a spiritual one.  Listen to my homily to learn more about what he meant.

Picture of Me after the Race.

I finished 13th place out of 86 runners overall and 3rd in my age group.  Children (K-8) could win the "Faster than Father" award if they beat me, and 3 boys were able to do it.  Congratulations to all of the participants in our Fair Ascension 5K race!  Let us all also finish the spiritual race that ends in heaven where we will be united to God!

Faithfully Follow God - Holy Hour For Vocations - August 16th, 2019

We are all called to follow God and pursue the life of holiness.  God calls some to vocations of priesthood, religious life, consecrated virginity, permanent diaconate, and married life.  Each vocation is the way that God wants us to fulfill the universal call to holiness.  Sometimes though, we think that God is calling us to a particular vocation and suddenly the calling seems to change.  What happened?  Why would God do that to us?

Biblical Evidence of the Assumption of Mary - August 15th, 2019

How do we know that Mary’s body was taken up into heaven?  Where is that found in the bible?  Listen to my homily and find out.  More evidence could have been given, but I wanted to be brief.
