Imagine Being There - Baptism of the Lord - January 12th, 2020

There are many ways that we can pray.   One way we can pray is to imagine being there at the biblical event.  We can through our imaginations come to new insights as to what happened or why it happened.  Sometimes when we enter into imaginative prayer, God meets us in our imaginations and speaks to us through them.  We know that God can do this because He spoke to people in their dreams and dreams are from the imagination.  So, God can meet us in our imaginations and speak to us through them.  In my homily, I try to help the listener enter into the Baptism of Jesus by imagining the scene, then I teach about why Jesus was baptized, and finish the homily with another opportunity of imaginative prayer to help us better receive the love of God.
