Guard Against All Greed - 18th Sunday of OT - August 4th, 2019 (Recorded at a Later Date)

I'm practicing what I preached!  Jesus warns us about in our Gospel passage today.  “Take care to guard against all greed, for though one may be rich, one’s life does not consist of possessions.”  Jesus then tells a parable about a rich man who has such a great harvest that he selfishly decides to build new barns to keep all of it for himself. Listen to my homily to find out more.

Readings:  ECC 1:2; 2:21-23; PS 90:3-4, 5-6, 12-13, 14 AND 17; COL 3:1-5, 9-11; LK 12:13-21

Since I gave this homily, I looked through my clothes and found some that I can give away.  Similarly, I have some books to give away too.  I also threw away some useless things that I was storing for no good reason.
