God is awesome, for many
reasons. The one I’m thinking of right
now is for how He coordinated our second reading and our Fair Ascension 5K Race
yesterday morning. We heard, “persevere
in running the race that lies before us while keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus.” His timing is great. This reading only comes on one Sunday every
three years and it happens to be on the same weekend as our first annual 5K
race. Great timing. Though St. Paul was not referring to a physical, but a spiritual one. Listen to my homily to learn more about what he meant.

I finished 13th place out of 86 runners overall and 3rd in my age group. Children (K-8) could win the "Faster than Father" award if they beat me, and 3 boys were able to do it. Congratulations to all of the participants in our Fair Ascension 5K race! Let us all also finish the spiritual race that ends in heaven where we will be united to God!
