Let’s
consider the word “Advent.” It means “to
come.” Typically, it refers to the
coming of someone or something notable or important. We are preparing for the coming of Jesus
Christ. There is more than one. The first coming of Christ is celebrated at
Christmas. At Christmas we celebrate the
Incarnation, that is, God coming to us as a man. The Second coming of Christ is when Jesus
Christ comes in glory at the end of time.
