Listening to God - Third Sunday of Lent - March 15th, 2020

A seminarian was on a secular college campus and he approach a group of people.  When he reached them, they were kind of tense and quiet as they stared at him.  He said to them, “I have a very important question to ask you, if you were a hot dog, would you eat yourself?”  They laughed.

After this initial question, he was past the tension and the group of people were more relaxed and willing to talk to him.  He continued the conversation causally and built up some rapport with them.  Once he had some level of relationship and trust, he shifted the conversation to more serious things like dating practices and going to church on Sunday.  Notice that he didn’t start with the serious things but first tried to build some kind of relationship.

We can see Jesus doing something similar with the woman at the well. Listen to my homily to learn how to better listen to God!
