All Saints and the Beatitudes - All Saints Day - November 1st, 2019

Often when we say “saints” we think of canonized Saints.  These saints are people who the Church has recognized as being in heaven.  However, everyone in heaven is a saint, though many are not identified by the Church as being there.  That’s one of the reasons why we have our Solemnity of all Saints today.  We are celebrating everyone in heaven, those that are officially recognized by the Church and those who are not.

We are all called to one day be with them in heaven.  God wants us all to be in Heaven and He offers us this free gift.  We need to accept it by aiming our lives for heaven.  Jesus Christ gave us the beatitudes in our Gospel today to help guide us to Heaven.  Listen to my homily to learn more about it.
